Successful seed round completed

Press Release: April 25, 2023

In December 2022, bits&birds was able to convince investors and successfully complete a long-planned financing round of 500,000 euros. The creditors include Thorsten Dirks (former CEO of Eurowings and board member of Lufthansa), Juergen Roesger (former board member at E-Plus), and an investor group led by Bremen entrepreneur Thomas Henning.

While other start-ups benefit from external funding before their founding, the innovative recruiting service provider started without external financing. The reason being the generally uncertain outlook at the beginning of the pandemic, which caused a seed round scheduled for early summer 2020 to collapse shortly beforehand.

Although they have so far limited themselves to bootstrapping, the Hamburg-based personnel consultants are nevertheless in a significant growth and expansion phase today, with almost 60 employees at three locations.

The fresh capital will now be used by the young company for personnel expansion, technical expansion, and the launch of a new product. “We are delighted that we are now much closer to our mission of making recruiting more modern and efficient in times of increasing skill shortages. Thanks to the funding, this mission is receiving a significant boost,” states Can Ulusoy, Head of Growth.

bits&birds sees the fact that the financing round was even oversubscribed as a signal of recognition for the company’s development to date and corresponding confidence in its future.
